Our school will be represented at two international conferences during the next fortnight The 25th. Annual Conference of Alzheimer Europe takes place in Ljubljana, Slovenia from 2-4 September 2015. Dr Louise Ritchie and Margaret Brown will both be presenting their own work and that of colleagues at this three-day event with the theme of ‘Dementia: putting strategies and research into practice’. UWS ground-breaking work will be showcased on dementia and employment, support for individuals with advanced dementia, and learning disability and dementia.
In the same week, the 6th International Carers Conference is taking place in Gothenburg, Sweden from 3-6 September with a focus on how we manage care and caring in the face of the demographic changes that are increasingly dominating social policy, research and practice across the globe. Dr Karen Watchman will be presenting work of the Palliare project with an overview of ongoing work in seven European countries of how the registered dementia workforce are being equipped to support advanced dementia care and family caring.
