On Thursday 13th August 2015 the Alzheimer Scotland Centre for Policy and Practice hosted a community engagement event at Hamilton Campus funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York. The event focused on dementia in the workplace and considered the potential for continued employment post-diagnosis. A series of mini-lectures shared the perspectives of the employer and employee, with representation from UWS People and Organisational Development, two people living with dementia and a family carer. Videos of the mini-lectures are now available to view online here (click dementia and employment at the left of the page).

One of the people living with a dementia that is featured in the videos also Blogs on a regular basis. You can find her latest entry at  Which me am I today

UWS is leading a research project funded by the Alzheimer’s Society exploring the employment related experiences of people with dementia and attitudes of employers and/or co-workers. For further information please contact Dr Louise Ritchie, Lecturer in Dementia, Alzheimer Scotland Centre for Policy and Practice.
