Earlier this week, colleagues from our school attended and presented at the RCN Education Forum International Conference in Telford, England.
Di Douglas, Lecturer in Adult Health at Hamilton Campus and David Hunter, Lecturer in Adult Health, at Paisley Campus attended the two day event which brings together colleagues from both education and clinical practice. This year, representation from Scotland was limited, so it was great to see our School ‘flying the flag’.
On Tuesday, Di showcased her poster on Electronic Voting Systems and their use in pre-registration nursing. This was very well received and generated lots of discussion. On Wednesday, David presented the preliminary findings from his Professional Doctorate which has looked at the experiences of student nurses in the Emergency Department in relation to compassionate care. Again, this session was positively received and generated a lot of discussion, amongst the the student nurses particularly who were in attendance. As a result, David has also been asked to share his findings with local emergency department nurses from NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde at a future educational event.
