Graduation Day for National Dementia Champions Cohort 7.

Posted on Updated on

Congratulations to the 102 new NES/SSSC dementia champions who received their awards yesterday at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. The keynote speaker and guest for the morning for the graduations was Maureen Watt MSP, Minister for Mental Health with the Scottish Government who is keen to see the project continue as part of the 3rd. National Strategy for Dementia which is due to be released soon.

The programme, delivered by the School of Health Nursing and Midwifery at UWS and Alzheimer Scotland, supports the development of Dementia Champions as change agents in improving the experience, care, treatment and outcomes for people with dementia, and their families and carers in acute general and community hospitals, and at the interface between hospital and community settings. More details about the day and the project can be found below.
