On Friday 28th. of April we mentioned that Jennifer McKitting, a third-year student on the BSc Midwifery Programme based at Hamilton Campus was nominated for the  MaMa  Student Midwife of the year award. Jennifer had been Nominated by her programme leader Jean Watson

Well, She won! The award went to her because the panel was impressed with her commitment to undertake and complete her programme of training while still being very proactive elsewhere. Jennifer is:

  • Chair of the midwifery Society
  • Integral to  the Buddy System for student midwives
  • Works with women undergoing fertility treatment
  • Trained Listener with Listen Well Scotland

All this while self-funding her studies and coping with Type 1 diabetes!

A worthy winner.
